VST2 > VST3 migration support for hosts using the IPluginCompatibility interface
Known issues
FL Studio: VST3 GUI glitches when using mod assigner drag & drop
FL Studio 2025: text entry issues (e.g. in the preset save dialog) using VST3 or CLAP
Cubase: the host bypass option is not working (use the plugin’s own bypass)
Logic: surround and sidechain features require Logic 11 or newer
Some parameter IDs changed, breaking automation in projects that used alpha or beta builds
Some mouse preferences not working on Linux yet
Special notes
Plugins are 64-bit only.
VST2 support has ended.
Please manually delete the old VST2 versions.
In hosts which support IPluginCompatibility, the VST2 will get replaced with the VST3 version automatically.
The old skin and presets will get installed to ensure old VST2 projects can still be loaded in hosts without migration support.
The VST2 version itself is not included in the installer. So if you need to continue using it, do not delete the VST2 from your system.
Plugins have been renamed.
A plugin rescan or clearing of the plugin cache might be needed to update the plugin names in the host.
Some hosts will display the old plugin names in old projects.
The automatic replacement with the renamed plugins in old projects might not work if the host doesn’t support VST3 migration.
Your user presets have not been deleted, but the user preset folders got renamed. Manually copy your presets over to the new folders. Right-click the user presets folder in the browser and choose “Open in Explorer/Finder” to locate it on your hard disk.
Updated minimum requirements: CPU needs to support SSE4.2 instruction set (otherwise the plugins will crash)
Linux: minimum required glibc version is 2.28 (otherwise plugins won’t show up)
