Zebralette 3 released!
December 10, 2025
This core piece of Zebra 3 is finally out of beta, and with significantly reduced CPU-hunger. To recap: Zebralette 3 is a single oscillator plucked from the mothership and embedded within a minimal synth environment comprising ADSR and MSEG envelopes, two LFOs, modulation matrix, delay and reverb effects...
The oscillator is in a league of its own: Spline-based editing, a dynamic toolbox borrowed from vector graphic apps, various morphing options between up to 16 'curves', a pair of waveform mangling algorithms, an audio engine switchable between traditional waves and additive synthesis. Although it isn't a wavetable synth, the curve sets can be exported as wavetables in .WAV format for use elsewhere.
Like its predecessor, Zebralette 3 is freeware. As well as being a ton of fun and a stepping-stone to the full Zebra 3 experience, it will also serve as a testbed for our new License Card system.
Zebralette version 3.0 can be downloaded now here
Enjoy!

License Cards — A New, Simple Way to Manage Your Licenses
December 10, 2025
We’re excited to roll out a new licensing system that will eventually replace traditional serial numbers across our product line: License Cards.
Attention: Currently, only Zebra 3 license owners will receive License Cards!
License Cards are small PNG files that resemble credit cards and contain all your u-he registration information. The embedded metadata include your user name, the serial numbers and issue dates of all your u-he licenses i.e. a single License Card can contain licenses for multiple products.
Using a License Card is easy: Simply load it from the plug-in’s registration window when it appears—no internet connection is required. You will also see the option to "Import a License Card" in the u-he badge menu, so this can be done at any time.
Multiple License Cards can coexist on the same computer, and compatible products automatically pick the latest information.
License Cards will be delivered by email from support@u-he.com whenever you purchase a compatible product, redeem a registration code, or access the My Licenses webpage. As they are regular .PNG image files, licenses can be backed up in most password managers or wherever you prefer to keep your important documents.
At present, License Cards are supported by Zebra 3 and Zebralette 3 (which can handle Licence Cards even though it is freeware and does not require activation). Our entire product line will eventually adopt the new system, as we plan to let the new system generate activation data for older products.
For example, a future Zebralette 3 will be able to activate Diva using the Diva license contained in your License Card, although Diva still uses legacy serial numbers internally. We also plan to let License Cards automate license transfers.
One minor problem is worth a mention: Some email clients like to strip out .PNG metadata or save a preview image instead of the original file. If your License Card doesn’t work, make sure you are using the attached file, not a preview shown by your e-mail client. Of course existing licenses can always be downloaded from https://u-he.com/my-licenses/.
License Cards streamline the registration process, they present users with better information about license status, and help solve several drawbacks of serials numbers.

Cheers! your u-he team
